Nine months after the couple announced their separation, Marc Anthony has officially filed for divorce from Jennifer Lopez, according to TMZ.
Perhaps waiting until he assumed that everyone had forgotten the couple had ever been together at all, Anthony filed the papers April 9 in L.A. County Superior Court and cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for divorce.
In the papers, Marc Anthony asks for joint legal and physical custody of Emme and Max, the couple’s twins that are now four years old.
The papers also ask the judge to deny any spousal support sought by Jennifer Lopez, and seeks to have each party pay their own attorney’s fees.
Anthony and Lopez had were married in 2004. This will be Jennifer Lopez’s third divorce, and the second for Anthony.
Despite the filings, the couple are still working together on the Fox reality show “Q’Viva! The Chosen.” During the show, the couple, along with director and choreographer Jamie King, travel to 21 different Latin American countries to search for undiscovered talent.
