Rick Ross has been battling with some court issues that could have potentially left him having to change his stage moniker from his infamous double ‘R’s.
Freeway Ricky Ross has been trying to file against Rick Ross for using “his name” a couple of times now– and though he might have thought his get rich quick scheme would work against the MMG star, he didn’t quite understand just why he wasn’t prevailing previously.
It just so happens that way back in November of 2010, there was another judge who also dismissed a $10 million federal trademark infringement lawsuit against the popular rapper Rick Ross. Apparently, Freeway Ricky Ross could not legally trademark his name. It just so happened that because he became popular due to “illegal activity,” it became impossible to give his name a “secondary meaning.”
Therefore, all you Maybach fans won’t have to fret in coming up with the next most popular name for your favorite artist– though he’d probably just change over to “Ricky Rozay” or something popular that he’s already used to being called for the time being. But Rick Ross is what he will stay.
