Stacey Smalls of the 6300 block of Ditman Street has been charged with killing her 18-month-old twins, named Adam and Eve, in the family home.
Police say 41-year-old Stacey Smalls was charged Friday with two counts of first-degree murder.
Investigators believe one twin was strangled and the other was drowned. Authorities are awaiting autopsy results for the official causes of death.
Police also say they believe Smalls gave her 4-year-old daughter some type of substance to drink in an attempt to take her life. The girl is listed in stable but guarded condition at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.
A police spokesman says Smalls then attempted to kill herself by cutting her wrists. Her husband discovered the scene when he came home from work Thursday and called 911.

Stacey Smalls left notes next to the children, one saying, “This is why I killed your kids.” The detailed notes were left for her husband, who is a correctional officer, explaining her anger upon finding out on Mother’s Day that he was allegedly having an affair with Stacey’s daughter from previous relationship.

Ronald Smalls “Ron” (The father of the children and Stacey Smalls husband) told WPVI-TV on Friday that he and his wife had been having marital difficulties, but he did not elaborate.
“We’ve had some problems and I’d suggested therapy for both of us,” he said. “She didn’t think it was important.”
Stacey Small changed her Facebook profile picture May 19 to a photograph of a car spray-painted along its side with the words, “Hope she was worth it.” She also listed her relationship status as divorced.

One of the links on her Facebook page says “I love being a mom.”

Although some family members and co-workers seems to support this Mother, it seems that she already had major issues as she posted a link to a newspaper report of her daughter Jennifer Newkirk being arrested and it seems that Stacey Smalls thought it was funny.. I think many of the family members knew that Smalls was not mental stable, yet thought her antics on facebook and behavior was entertaining and funny. Now it seems that she has many supporters, personally I only think that is guilt because they never did anything to step in before it reached this point.
